Lamorinda FC '91 - 2nd place finish
in the Benicia Old Capital Classic
|
The Lamorinda FC '91 Boys team lead by
coach Svilen Dyakovski playing in foggy, windy Benicia rode the
summer winds to a second place finish in the Old Capital Classic.
FC '91 decisively defeated Benicia Arsenal 3:0, and despite a
tough 2:3 match against the Pleasanton Ballistic came back to
send the Sonoma Heat (who hadn't missed a playoff game in 4 years
of tournaments) home early with a 1:0 win on a brilliant attack
in the last minute of the game. On Sunday afternoon as the winds
swirled FC '91 scored quickly against the Bullard Chiefs on the
strengths of a sharp passing game and continually pressured the
Bullard defense in their half, but ran out of time before they
could even the score of the 1:2 game. A great way to start the
season so save that spot on the winners podium ...FC '91 will
be back!
